ROYAL SALUTE
Bohemian Aristocracy

Royal Salute’s whiskies are matured for a minimum of 21 years and as a result, they appreciate the value of time in a way few other brands can imagine.
Generations of artists, writers, and philosophers have dedicated their lives to understanding our relationship with time. The ‘Bohemian Aristocracy’ campaign takes inspiration from an iconic British artistic personality and patron of the arts, Lady Ottoline Morrell, the passionate intellectual aristocrat at the heart of London’s famous Bloomsbury Group.
Creation of a limited-edition booklet, based on Lady Ottoline’s private photograph albums, to launch the campaign. The booklet features candid and domestic pictures alongside more formal posed portraits of the greatest artistic, creative and philosophical minds of the day interspersed with texts related to the campaign. Each booklet has unique hand made marbled endpapers evoking books from the time of Bloomsbury and are bound using Japanese stab binding, something that would have been considered ‘exotic’ at that time. The campaign images were printed on photographic paper and tipped-in at the end of the book, these pages were separated using an onion-skin paper to complete the feeling of a photographic album.
